Butler County District Attorney Richard Goldinger confirmed that the shooter and one audience member have died following a shooting at Donald Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania. Goldinger also reassured the public that Trump is safe and was evacuated by the US Secret Service. Additionally, a second spectator is reported to be in serious condition according to the official.
The former president was swiftly evacuated from the stage by Secret Service agents after he fell to the ground amid loud bangs at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Witnesses reported that Trump fell to the ground following the loud noises, after which he was shielded by Secret Service agents. He was later assisted to his feet by security personnel, with visible blood on his face. Despite the commotion, Trump managed to briefly address the crowd, raising his fist and shouting “fight, fight, fight!” before security swiftly removed him from the scene.
The Secret Service later reported that Trump “is fine” and was not seriously injured.
“President Trump thanks law enforcement and first responders for their quick action during this heinous act. He is fine and is being checked out at a local medical facility. More details will follow,” Trump’s spokesperson Steven Cheung said in a statement.
