Recent recordings of the New York Police Department scanners revealed a conversation the NYPD had with its officers who were at the protests. It can clearly be heard that the NYPD orders its officers to shoot and run over peaceful protestors, according to local New York site Gothamist.
On Monday afternoon and evening, thousands of New Yorkers took to the streets to protest the ongoing racial injustice in America.
New York had set a curfew at 7 p.m. But according to the report, officers were heard around 6:20 p.m. getting orders to start removing protestors by force.
In the audio recording, one officer tells the NYPD that the roads were being blocked by protestors. That’s when officers were overheard on a police scanner threatening physical violence.
“Central, we have a group of people blocking traffic on Albany and Dean street. They’re refusing to…go eastbound on Dean Street and Albany, so we’re stuck here.”
“Run them over,” a voice responds.
“Shoot those motherf*ckers.” another voice says, according to the audio.
The same officer can be heard saying: “Don’t put that over the air.”
