Republican strategist Matthew Dowd took to Twitter on Friday to call out Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) for being a failure.
Dowd, who was the chief strategist for George W. Bush’s successful 2004 re-election, thinks Cruz should take notes from former Rep. Beto O’Rourke.
According to Dowd, Cruz should write out a check to O’Rourke for doing his job for him.
“I hereby ask @SenTedCruz @tedcruz to write a check to @BetoORourke for the money Ted has taken as payroll from the fed govt since January 2019. Beto has done more for Texans as a private citizen than Ted has done as senator,” Dowd tweeted.
“Please retweet if you agree with me,” he urged. And thousands did.

While Cruz claimed there wasn’t much he could do for struggling Texas residents, O’Rourke got to work:
BIG THANKS to the volunteers who made over 784,000 phone calls to senior citizens in Texas today.
You helped to connect them with water, food, transportation, and shelter.
And you made sure that they knew we were thinking about them and that they matter to us.
Goodnight!
