A new CNN poll conducted by SSRS this week revealed that the majority of the American public believes that Donald Trump should be convicted and removed from office by the U.S. Senate.

According to the survey, 51 percent of people are in support of the Senate voting to convict and remove Trump, while 45 percent of survey takers believe Trump should remain president. Four percent said they had no opinion.

While the survey did split evenly between party lines, the majority of Independents sided with the removal of Trump from office.

If that wasn’t bad enough for Trump, the majority of Americans (69%) said that the impeachment trial should include witnesses that did not get to testify during the House impeachment inquiry.

The CNN poll was conducted from Jan. 16-19 among a random national population of 1,156 adults. It has a margin of error of 3.4 percent.
