Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) is being slammed on Twitter after claiming on Friday that Democrats are encouraging protestors to riot in the streets.

Jordan’s tweet came hours after he clashed with Dr. Anthony Fauci during a House hearing and failed to drag the infectious disease expert into a political argument about the nationwide protest against police brutality.

“Can’t go to church. Can’t go to work. Can’t go to school,” Jordan wrote. “Even Dr. Fauci says protesting is dangerous. But Democrats encourage people to riot and protest in the streets,” he added.

Jordan tweet was met with immediate backlash. One Twitter user responded:

“Can’t help your wrestlers. Can’t do the right thing. Can’t help those who need it,” before adding: “Even the experts say abusing wrestlers is dangerous. But @Jim_Jordan encouraged his wrestlers to keep quiet.
