The House select committee investigating the January 6 attack insurrection is considering formally asking former Vice President Mike Pence to voluntarily appear before the panel, committee chairman Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS) told NPR Friday.
Thompson told the news outlet that the committee will meet next week to discuss the matter and that a formal invitation for Pence to voluntarily appear could come by the end of the month.
“I think you could expect that before the month’s out,” the Mississippi Democrat said of the invitation to Pence.
The Chairman’s comments came days after the committee sent letters asking for voluntary appearances by Reps. Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Scott Perry (R-PA).
Committee member Adam Schiff also said that the Panel is looking forward to interviewing the former vice president.
