Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) took to Twitter this week to complain that he and his fellow Republican senators were “offended” by the House impeachment managers’ presentation.

Graham claimed “most Republicans found the presentation by the House Managers offensive and absurd.”

According to CNN host Jake Tapper, that isn’t the case.

Tapper responded to Graham’s tweet and revealed that he chatted on background with six other Republican senators who did not at all find the evidence they saw insulting in the slightest.

“I chatted on background on phone and text with six GOP Senators about this,” wrote Tapper. “Four of them strongly disagreed with Graham’s assessment. The fifth told me it’s possible others were offended since they had experienced the assault and didn’t need to be reminded of how horrible it was, though this senator was not offended.”

As for the sixth senator, Tapper said that some Republicans could have possibly been offended by the argument that “Trump intended for a violent mob to attack the Capitol,” which the senator argued “might be a bridge too far.”
