In a furious Truth Social post, President Donald Trump unleashed on two longtime conservative media allies: Fox News and the Wall Street Journal. His outrage comes after Fox released a new poll showing voters aren’t thrilled with his performance, and the Journal dropped an editorial slamming his tariff plans.
“Rupert Murdoch has told me for years that he is going to get rid of his FoxNews, Trump Hating, Fake Pollster, but he has never done so. This ‘pollster’ has gotten me, and MAGA, wrong for years,” Trump wrote.
Then he turned his sights to the Wall Street Journal. “Also, and while he’s at it, he should start making changes at the China Loving Wall Street Journal. It sucks!!!” he added.
Trump has long leaned on conservative media—especially Fox News—to back him as he fights what he calls the “fake news” establishment. But his relationship with Murdoch’s empire has gotten rockier in recent years.
Even though Murdoch founded News Corp, the parent company of both Fox News and the Journal, he’s stepped away from day-to-day control. That hasn’t stopped Trump from calling him out when the coverage turns critical.

This isn’t the first time Trump’s been furious with Murdoch. He’s repeatedly slammed the Journal for its editorials, even criticizing its reporting while standing next to Murdoch during a public event. And after the 2020 election, when Fox News aired false claims about election fraud, Trump went after the network for not defending him harder—even as it faced a massive lawsuit from Dominion Voting Systems.
Now, back in the White House, Trump is again demanding loyalty from the conservative media giants that helped boost his rise. And when they step out of line, he’s ready to fire back—loudly.
