In a revealing moment on Fox News, host Bret Baier admitted that he aired the wrong clip during his contentious interview with Vice President Kamala Harris, highlighting the network’s ongoing right-wing bias.
During the heated 30-minute discussion, Harris confronted Baier after he presented a clip of former President Donald Trump from a town hall earlier that day. Harris was referencing Trump’s inflammatory remarks on “Sunday Morning Futures,” where he called for using the military against what he termed “the enemy from within,” labeling them “radical left lunatics.”
Baier’s decision to air a clip unrelated to Harris’s point led to a notable exchange. “Bret, I’m sorry, and with all due respect, that clip was not what he has been saying about the enemy within,” she remarked, challenging the framing of Trump’s rhetoric.
After the exchange went viral, Baier addressed the slip-up on Thursday’s Special Report.
“Harold, I did make a mistake,” he stated, trying to clarify his intentions. “And I did want to say that I did make a mistake. When I called for a soundbite, I was expecting a piece of the ‘enemy from within’ from Maria Bartiromo’s interview to be tied to the piece from your town hall, Harris, where you asked the former president about ‘the enemy from within.’ It just had the piece about the town hall. Just take a listen to what I meant to roll.”
Baier then aired the correct clip, revealing Trump’s actual comments about “the enemy from within” and further emphasizing his divisive rhetoric.
“We have some sick people, radical left lunatics,” Trump said, reiterating his call for military action if necessary.
“Not even the people that have come in and [are] destroying our country. We have some sick people, radical left lunatics. And I think they are– and it should be very easily handled by, if necessary, by National Guard, or if really necessary, by the military.”
Baier also aired Trump’s remarks at the town hall with Faulkner.
“My point was that we asked him about the question about that sentence and what he was trying to mean,” Baier concluded.

The incident underscores the challenges faced by the Biden administration and its representatives when engaging with a network that consistently promotes right-wing viewpoints, often distorting or misrepresenting Democratic perspectives.
