The guilty verdict in Hunter Biden’s gun trial didn’t just send shockwaves through the political landscape—it shattered the very foundation of Trump’s narrative of a weaponized Justice Department.

Amidst right-wing speculations that the Biden family’s influence and the trial’s Delaware setting would secure Hunter a free pass, the outcome delivered a harsh reality check. MSNBC’s Chuck Todd minced no words, highlighting the stark accountability faced by Hunter, a scion of the influential Biden dynasty, in their home turf.

The location of the verdict, as Todd emphasized, wasn’t incidental—it was symbolic. It spotlighted the stark contrast between how Trump and his allies manipulate the law and how the Bidens navigate its scrutiny. This trial, Todd underscored, wouldn’t even exist if not for Hunter’s familial ties to the White House.

“He got convicted by a jury in Delaware, okay?” Todd remarked. “Biden is the first — they are arguably the most well-known family in the state of Delaware, and perhaps responsible for so many things that Delaware has from the government today. The location of this guilty verdict, I think, mattered.”

“It’s possible that there’s a contrast here that the public may see how [Donald] Trump and his partisans handle the rule of law versus Biden and how his partisans handle the rule of law,” he continued. “This is one of those cases where I don’t think it’s brought if Biden is not president of the United States. This is one of those things where, if Biden had chosen not to run in 2016, I doubt Hunter Biden’s ever prosecuted for something like this.”

Hunter’s conviction for violation of gun laws dismantles any notion of preferential treatment or political vendettas. It punctures the myth that President Biden wields the DOJ as a partisan weapon.

Critics, like MSNBC’s Michael A. Cohen and commentator Edward Luce, noted the inconvenient truth for Trump: Biden’s inability to bend the justice system to his will undermines any claims of a rigged game.

“Hate to say it, but Hunter Biden’s conviction is politically useful to Dems. Makes it much harder for Trump to argue the system is rigged against him,” said Luce.

Hunter Biden’s verdict isn’t just a legal matter—it’s a testament to the resilience of justice against the backdrop of political turmoil. And in its wake, Trump’s accusations lay in tatters, exposing the hollowness of his claims.
