Rep. Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) was mocked on social media after saying President Biden doesn’t have the “energy of Donald Trump” after meeting with him for the first time in Biden’s presidency.
Speaking with Fox News’s Sean Hannity, the House Minority Leader claimed that “at no time, having known Joe Biden for quite some time, does he have the energy of Donald Trump. We both know it.”
“Donald Trump didn’t need to sleep five hours a night, and he would be engaged. If you called Donald Trump, he would get on the phone before staff would,” McCarthy added.
The California Republican, along with House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) and House Republican Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) were interviewed on “Hannity,” a show where he likely will see McCarthy’s comments.
McCarthy’s comments were met with a slush of mockery on social media.
