Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) imploded on Monday during a disastrous Fox News interview, where his attempts to discredit Vice President Kamala Harris fell flat and led to intense pushback from host Neil Cavuto.
Kennedy launched a series of personal attacks against Harris on “Your World with Neil Cavuto,” repeatedly branding her as “a bit of a ding-dong.” He claimed that polls reflect widespread disapproval of Harris, but failed to cite any specific sources for his claims.
Cavuto was unyielding in his challenge to Kennedy’s arguments, questioning the effectiveness and appropriateness of such derogatory remarks.
“Margaret Thatcher didn’t giggle, Golda Meir didn’t giggle. When you look at the polls, fair or not, many Americans — and again, this may not be fair — but I’m showing you what the polls show. Many Americans think that the vice president is a little bit of a ding-dong,” Kennedy insisted.
Despite Kennedy’s assertions, Cavuto pushed back forcefully, probing the potential impact of calling Harris names on female voters. “I’m just wondering how you think that will resonate with women when she is called nasty and crazy and a ding-dong,” Cavuto questioned, highlighting the risk of alienating women with such rhetoric.
Kennedy attempted to dismiss concerns about gender, claiming his critique was not influenced by Harris’s sex, but Cavuto interjected and questioned why the senator would call her a “ding-dong” then.
Kennedy’s attempt to undermine Harris with crude attacks only served to expose the weaknesses in his argument and left him struggling to defend his position.

Kennedy’s interview on Fox was not helpful at all for the Trump campaign. Might want to reconsider having this guy implode on tv on behalf of your candidacy pic.twitter.com/bGkCbvy9tW
