We’re less than two days away from this year’s World Cup final and the French squad could be concerned with losing some players to illness.
A new report revealed that Raphael Varane, Ibrahima Konate and Kingsley Coman are the latest French players to come down with an unidentified virus.
The news comes after Adrien Rabiot and Dayot Upamecano were forced to miss the team’s semifinal matchup vs. Morocco because of illness.
It is unknown what the illness is.
Franch manager Didier Deschamps says he has taken “all necessary precautions” to prevent the virus from spreading further.
“We know there has been an illness going around in Doha,” he told reporters. “Temperatures have fallen a little bit, and we have had a few cases of flu-like symptoms. We’re all trying to be careful so it doesn’t spread.”
France looks to win their second consecutive World Cup on Sunday, while Argentina and Lionel Messi look to win their third trophy.
Argentina and France will face each other Sunday at 10:00 am EST.
