Fox News host Mark Levin didn’t hold back when tearing into Donald Trump’s misguided remarks about Ukraine and its president, Volodymyr Zelensky. On his radio show, Levin slammed Trump’s claims, exposing the falsehoods and hypocrisy behind his stance on the war and putting the spotlight on Putin’s brutal dictatorship.

Levin went on a full-throttle defense of Zelensky and Ukraine, challenging Trump’s reckless criticism. Trump has recently criticized Zelensky for not holding elections and falsely blamed him for the war and the deaths of “MILLIONS.” But Levin made it crystal clear that the war began when Putin invaded Ukraine in 2022 — unprovoked — and that Zelensky wasn’t the one who started this mess.

Levin thoroughly explained Putin’s rise to power, exposing the ruthless tactics of a man who’s held an iron grip on Russia for decades. He also tore into the absurdity of Trump’s attacks on Zelensky, especially the claim that Ukraine should hold elections in the middle of a war. Levin pointed out that Zelensky had to impose martial law because of the Ukrainian constitution, and questioned why Putin, who silences anyone who challenges him, had the audacity to call for elections in Ukraine.

“Why does Putin get to call the shots when he murders people who dare to challenge him?” Levin asked, making the glaring contradiction impossible to ignore.

But then ripped into those like Trump who’ve sided with Putin, accusing them of pushing “sick” and “un-American” policies. He called out the so-called “intellectuals” who support Putin’s murderous regime while attacking Ukraine’s right to defend itself.

“I don’t know why there are people that not only oppose Zelensky, but seem to support Putin,” Levin said, making clear that such positions have no place in American discourse.

Trump’s recent claim that Zelensky’s approval rating was at a pathetic 4% was also swiftly debunked by Levin, who pointed out that Zelensky’s real approval rating is 57%. The Ukrainian parliament, Levin noted, fully backs Zelensky as they fight to survive Russia’s invasion. Levin made it clear: “Ukraine didn’t invade Russia. Russia invaded Ukraine.”

Levin also destroyed the idea that Ukraine should just “roll over and play dead” in the face of Russia’s aggression. He reminded listeners that Ukraine is a small, agricultural country with limited resources — and it’s being brutalized by a nuclear superpower. The American people, Levin emphasized, aren’t fooled by Putin. With 81% of Americans distrustful of him, Levin said, “the men and women who’ve been in the military… understand that this is about standing up to tyranny.”

While Levin didn’t directly call out Trump, it was obvious that his scathing remarks were aimed at the former president. Trump’s comments about Zelensky and the war — including his false claims that Zelensky’s leadership had failed — were painted as dangerous and out of touch with reality. Levin wasn’t about to let Trump’s reckless rhetoric slide.

Trump accused Zelensky of manipulating the U.S. into spending billions on a war “that couldn’t be won” and said that Zelensky was “refusing to have elections” while the U.S. “gets nothing back.” Levin hit back hard, pointing out the truth: Zelensky is fighting for his country’s survival, not some “gravy train,” and to suggest otherwise is to ignore the human cost of Putin’s invasion.

Levin, a long-time Trump supporter, has now publicly distanced himself from the president’s increasingly isolationist and pro-Putin stance. This wasn’t just a critique of Trump; it was a full-throated defense of Ukraine and its people. The message was clear: if you support Putin, you’re on the wrong side of history. And if you’re willing to twist the facts to attack Zelensky, you’re betraying the values this country stands for.
