Fox News hosts suggested that Democrats are trying to ban cursive writing in schools to prevent children from being able to read the U.S. Constitution.

On a recent Fox & Friends Weekend segment, co-host Rachel Campos-Duffy talked about a bill in Idaho requiring schools to teach cursive in elementary grades.

“I didn’t realize this was a generational thing,” Campos-Duffy said. “I spoke to our younger producers, and they said some of them don’t write in cursive and don’t even know how.”

Co-host Peter Doocy then pointed out that former President Joe Biden, a Democrat, has “bad” cursive handwriting.

“But you know, one of my favorite conspiracy theories, and I kind of believe it, is that the reason Democrats don’t want people to learn cursive is so they can’t read the actual Constitution,” co-host Charlie Hurt said.

Campos-Duffy reacted with excitement, “That’s a good one!”

Doocy joked, “Like when they’re on a tour of Independence Hall… this could be ‘National Treasure Three.’ Oh, I’m here. And I want to steal the document. But I don’t know which one is right exactly.”

Campos-Duffy then mentioned Donald Trump’s signature. “You know who’s cursive handwriting is [great]? It’s Donald Trump. Have you ever seen his signature?”

“He’s old school,” Hurt added.
