Falwell Quotes MLK’s ‘I Have A Dream’ Speech As He Confirms Resignation Over Sex Scandal

Jerry Falwell Jr. confirmed on Tuesday that he has resigned from Liberty University after a sex scandal came to light this week. While confirming his resignation, Falwell quoted Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech.

“It’s a relief,” Falwell said, according to The News & Advance‘s Richard Chumney. “The quote that keeps going through my mind this morning is Martin Luther King Jr: ‘free at last, free at last, thank God almighty I’m free at last.”

The disgraced Falwell thought it would be a good idea to quote MLK after he and his wife were caught sleeping with their pool boy.
