Democrats in Wisconsin took a decisive win on Monday after results tallied from the previous week’s elections found progressive Dane County Judge Jill Karofsky winning a decisive victory over Daniel Kelly, a conservative state Supreme Court justice appointed by former Gov. Scott Walker.
According to the Associated Press and TMJ4 News, this marks a big win for Wisconsin Democrats, who have now reduced the conservative majority on the court to 4-3.
Republicans tried to get the race to lean their way after getting a judge to rule in favor of forcing people to make in-person votes despite the risks of being exposed to COVID-19.
