A mass shooting on the campus of Florida State University in Tallahassee has left five people dead and at least four others injured. Local law enforcement confirmed the casualties, with Fox News reporting that two shooters were involved in the attack. One of the suspects is believed to be dead.

Police were seen rushing into the student union Thursday afternoon as an emergency alert ordered everyone on campus to shelter in place. The campus remains under lockdown. Multiple ambulances quickly left the scene, heading to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. At least four victims were reported to have been brought to the hospital.

Fox News contributor Nicole Parker said during a live broadcast, “Again, without having time to sift through all of the facts, we don’t know if some of the individuals at the hospital are separate from the five that have been declared deceased. There could be multiple individuals that have not been accounted for at this point. And again, as the law enforcement officer, as an FBI agent who did respond, it takes a lot of time to determine how many deceased there are if there was indeed a large number.”

The FBI has joined the investigation, according to ABC News. All classes and events at FSU have been canceled for the day.

Florida Senator Rick Scott shared his thoughts on social media, posting, “Praying for the safety of everyone at FSU and a swift recovery for those injured. My team has been in touch with local law enforcement and continues to monitor the situation – students should continue to follow directions from school officials.”
