Prior to Easter Sunday, churches across the nation vowed to open up for service despite orders from states not to.
The office of Attorney General William Barr had sent out a dire warning to government officials who single out religious organizations for violating social distancing orders, according to the Christian Post.
“During this sacred week for many Americans, AG Barr is monitoring govt regulation of religious services,” a spokesperson for Barr tweeted on April 11. “While social distancing policies are appropriate during this emergency, they must be applied evenhandedly & not single out religious orgs. Expect action from DOJ next week!”
