‘I’m saying exactly that’: MTG makes explosive accusation against Trump in Epstein files feud

In one of the most extraordinary breaks yet between Donald Trump and a former member of his inner MAGA circle, Marjorie Taylor Greene is now accusing the president and his allies of “treason” for helping cover up information related to Jeffrey Epstein.

And she isn’t mincing words.

During a Wednesday appearance on CNN, Greene blasted Trump officials who allegedly fought to keep Epstein-related documents from becoming public, calling them “traitors” and accusing them of protecting powerful predators.

“We’re talking about pedophiles and rapists of the elite class of people that never get held accountable for anything,” Greene said. “The ones that refuse to release the Epstein files want to cover up for pedophiles and rapists and all sorts of disgusting things in the files.”

Those aren’t comments coming from a Democrat, a Never-Trumper, or one of Trump’s usual critics. They’re coming from one of the most loyal MAGA figures.

Greene’s remarks were prompted by new reporting from New York Times journalists Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan, whose forthcoming book describes internal panic within the Trump administration over the Epstein files and efforts to control what became public.

According to Greene, none of it surprised her.

She claimed she personally spoke with Trump before the files were released and says the conversation has stuck with her ever since.

“I had a very uncomfortable phone call with the president,” Greene said. “He told me that his friends would get hurt if the files were released. And I’ll never forget that.”

Greene said the administration’s handling of the Epstein files was “absolutely ridiculous and unforgivable” and argued that officials who tried to suppress the information do not deserve the public’s trust.

Then came the moment that would have been unthinkable just a few years ago.

CNN’s Kaitlan Collins pointed out that the reporting suggests Trump himself opposed releasing material from the files and asked Greene directly whether that meant she believed the president was one of the “traitors” she was describing.

“I’m saying exactly that,” Greene replied.

She went on to accuse Trump of betraying one of his central campaign promises.

“What is remarkable to me is that this administration, people that we voted for demanding transparency, the man that campaigned all over the country claiming he would drain the swamp, is the very man that fought to keep the Epstein files from being released,” she said.

The irony is hard to miss.

For years, Trump’s supporters demanded full transparency about Epstein, insisting the public deserved answers about who knew what and who may have been protected.

Now some of Trump’s own former allies are accusing his administration of doing exactly what they once accused others of doing: keeping damaging information hidden from the public.
