NBC “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie posted a gut-wrenching video Wednesday night, pleading for her 84-year-old mother’s safe return. In it, she and her siblings stood shoulder-to-shoulder on a camera and publicly addressed whoever may have taken their 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie, from her Arizona home earlier this week.

In a near-shaky voice, Guthrie made an unvarnished appeal that cut straight through the usual polished newsroom delivery you’re used to. “We need to know, without a doubt, that she is alive, and that you have her,” she said. “We want to hear from you, and we are ready to listen. Please, reach out to us.”

The plea came after multiple media outlets said they received ransom notes with specific — chilling — details about Nancy’s disappearance. Police haven’t confirmed whether those notes are real, and they refuse to tie them directly to the case yet.

Nancy Guthrie was last seen Saturday night in Tucson after her son-in-law dropped her at her home following dinner. She didn’t show up for church the next morning, and when her family checked on her, she was gone. The Pima County Sheriff’s Office says the scene is troubling enough that they’re treating it as a crime, with signs of forced entry and drops of blood found inside the house.

Nancy is described as mentally sharp but physically fragile, reliant on daily medication and unable to just walk off into the night. “Her health, her heart, is fragile,” Guthrie bluntly stated in the video. “She lives in constant pain. She is without any medicine. She needs it to survive.”

Her siblings, Annie and Camron, echoed her emotion:

“The light is missing from our lives,” Annie said. “Mama, if you’re listening, we need you to come home. We miss you.” Camron added a stark, simple plea: “We love you, Mom. Stay strong, come home.”
