House Democrats dropped a new batch of photos from Jeffrey Epstein’s estate on Thursday, and some of them are deeply unsettling. The release comes just a day ahead of the statutory deadline for the Justice Department to make its files public.
The images, pulled from thousands of documents the late sex predator left behind, include disturbing depictions of women’s bodies marked with lines from the novel Lolita. Other photos capture Epstein in social settings, appearing at ease, which only heightens the unease.
“Oversight Democrats will continue to release photographs and documents from the Epstein estate to provide transparency for the American people,” said Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif.), the top Democrat on the committee, in a press release.
The timing of this release, just ahead of the Justice Department deadline, seems calculated to ensure the public sees at least some of the shocking evidence firsthand.
Democrats say the intent is to shed light on what Epstein left behind and the environment that allowed his crimes to persist.
This is not just a story about one man’s depravity. It’s a reminder of systemic failures and the power structures that let exploitation flourish.
