Katie Miller, wife of far-right Trump strategist Stephen Miller, tried to stir controversy on her podcast — and it spectacularly backfired.
Miller invited Charlotte Jones, co-owner of the Dallas Cowboys and the team’s chief brand officer, to discuss a Super Bowl controversy that has become a lightning rod for MAGA supporters. But instead of landing a politically charged soundbite, Miller got a reality check.
The topic: Bad Bunny, the Puerto Rican rap artist slated to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show. For Trump loyalists, the choice of a Spanish-speaking, outspoken critic of ICE was enough to ignite outrage. Miller seemed to anticipate that Jones would echo that sentiment.
She did not.
“I think it’s awesome,” Jones said. “And I think our Latina fan base is amazing. When you think about the Super Bowl, you want the number one performer in the world to be there. We’re on a global stage, and we can’t ever forget that. Our game goes out to everybody around the world, and to get the premier entertainer to want to be a part of our game, I think is amazing.”
Jones didn’t stop there, directly confronting the anti-immigrant angle Miller was fishing for. “We have a mixed culture. I mean, our whole society is based on immigrants that have come here and founded our country. And I think we can celebrate that.”
Not only did Jones refuse to bash immigrants, she celebrated them — a move that landed as a brutal rebuke to the Miller brand of politics.
Critics have long suggested that Katie Miller’s podcast is less about honest conversation and more about grooming her husband’s image, portraying his hardline ideology as mainstream and even relatable. But in this instance, the setup failed spectacularly, leaving Miller with no soundbite and a clear reminder that not everyone is willing to play along with political baiting.
