Most Corrupt Administration Ever’: Trump Official Caught Taking Bribe on Tape — FBI Had the Footage, Shut Down Case, GOP Silent

Donald Trump’s so-called “law and order” administration is facing serious heat after newly surfaced reports reveal that his handpicked border czar, Tom Homan, was caught on camera accepting a $50,000 cash bribe from undercover FBI agents — before Trump was even sworn back into office.

The whole thing was part of a sting operation launched in 2024, while Homan was still a private citizen — and apparently already promising to hand out future border enforcement contracts in exchange for cash if Trump returned to power.

According to documents obtained by MSNBC, the investigation into Homan was opened after a separate federal probe revealed allegations that he was soliciting payments from individuals looking to profit off the immigration system. That’s when the FBI, the Justice Department’s Public Integrity Section, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Western District of Texas launched a joint corruption probe.

They sent in undercover agents. Homan took the bait — and the money. $50,000 in cash. On tape.

The feds had him. They had the footage. They had the documents. What they didn’t have was the timing.

Rather than arrest or charge Homan right away, sources say the FBI and DOJ held off — waiting to see if Homan would follow through on his promise once Trump reclaimed the White House.

But after Trump took office in January 2025, everything changed.

FBI Director Kash Patel, a longtime Trump loyalist and MAGA warrior, reportedly asked for an update on the investigation. Instead of advancing the case, Trump-appointed officials shut it down completely.

No charges. No accountability. No explanation.

Privately, one DOJ official chalked the whole thing up to a “deep state” operation. The case was buried. Full stop.

After MSNBC dropped the bombshell report, the FBI and DOJ rushed out a joint statement trying to spin the narrative:

“This matter originated under the previous administration and was subjected to a full review by FBI agents and Justice Department prosecutors. They found no credible evidence of any criminal wrongdoing.”

“The Department’s resources must remain focused on real threats to the American people, not baseless investigations.”

The White House quickly backed the move, calling the whole thing a politically motivated witch hunt from Biden-era prosecutors.

“Tom Homan has not been involved with any contract award decisions,” said White House Deputy Press Secretary Abigail Jackson. “He is a career law enforcement officer and lifelong public servant who is doing a phenomenal job on behalf of President Trump and the country.”

No denial of the video. No denial of the cash. Just a coordinated brush-off.

Homan’s Private Sector Ties Raise Even More Questions

Before being appointed border czar, Homan was no stranger to cashing in. In fact, The Washington Post reported that he collected at least $5,000 in consulting fees from The GEO Group — a private prison company that runs many of the U.S.’s immigrant detention centers.

“The GEO Group is a major private prison contractor whose largest source of revenue is contracts with ICE,” said Sen. Dick Durbin, the Senate’s No. 2 Democrat. “This news raises even more questions, and the corruption concerns are too large to ignore.”

The truth is, that $5,000 was likely a fraction of what Homan made. Ethics rules don’t require full disclosure of consulting payments — just a minimum threshold. How deep those financial ties go is still unknown.

The Hypocrisy Runs Deep

Homan has spent years branding himself as the face of immigration enforcement. He routinely attacks journalists, advocates, and politicians who question ICE’s methods or transparency.

In July, Homan even went after CNN, demanding a DOJ investigation into the network for reporting on immigration raids.

“DOJ needs to look at this. Send a strong message. This is disgusting,” he told conservative influencer Benny Johnson. “This puts the danger at a whole new level.”

Apparently, taking bribes for border contracts doesn’t.

Republicans Say… Nothing.

You’d think getting caught on tape taking a $50,000 bribe would spark some kind of bipartisan outrage. You’d be wrong.

Democrats were quick to respond.

“The most corrupt administration we have ever seen,” tweeted Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA).

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) dropped the sarcasm hammer:

“Who’s the illegal now Tom Homan?”

But from the GOP? Crickets. No press conferences. No condemnations. Not even a token tweet.

Meanwhile, FBI Director Kash Patel, who helped deep-six the case, is having his own PR crisis — after fumbling through a brutal Judiciary Committee hearing about the Epstein files, allegedly needing “self-help notes” just to get through it.

Let’s not kid ourselves. This isn’t just about Tom Homan. This is about how far the Trump administration — now back in full force — is willing to go to protect its loyalists.

A top official was literally filmed accepting a cash bribe. There’s no dispute about that. The investigation was legitimate. The evidence was real. Then the moment Trump took power again, the case was shut down, sealed off, and swept under the rug.

This isn’t “draining the swamp.” This is feeding it.

And if you’re wondering why more Republicans aren’t speaking out, maybe the answer is simple: they already know how deep the rot goes.
