‘Nasty and Provocative’: Trump Melts Down After Governor Challenges Him to Walk

Donald Trump exploded online after Maryland Gov. Wes Moore invited him to take a walk through Baltimore. What was meant to be a simple challenge turned into a full-blown meltdown.

Trump, 79, raged on Truth Social, calling Moore’s invite “nasty and provocative.” Instead of accepting, he took aim at Baltimore, calling it a “crime disaster” and threatening to send in the National Guard.

“As President, I would much prefer that he clean up this Crime disaster before I go there for a ‘walk,’” Trump wrote. “Wes Moore’s record on Crime is a very bad one, unless he fudges his figures on crime like many of the other ‘Blue States’ are doing.”

He didn’t stop there.

“But if Wes Moore needs help, like Gavin Newscum did in L.A., I will send in the ‘troops,’ which is being done in nearby DC, and quickly clean up the Crime,” he added.

Trump was so rattled by the walk challenge, he even suggested pulling federal funding from the rebuild of the Francis Scott Key Bridge, which collapsed last year.

In a separate post, he accused Moore of lying about earning a Bronze Star. But records show Moore received the honor in 2024.

Moore fired back with a jab at Trump’s health.

“President Bone Spurs will do anything to get out of walking – even if that means spouting off more lies about the progress we’re making on public safety in Maryland,” Moore wrote.

Then came the real sting: “Hey Donald, we can get you a golf cart if that makes things easier. Just let my team know.”

The comment wasn’t random. During a 2017 G7 summit in Italy, world leaders took a short walk together—Trump waited for a golf cart to drive him instead.

Trump’s fitness has come under scrutiny again. Just days ago, he stumbled during a summit with Vladimir Putin, struggling to walk in a straight line. He also mistakenly said the summit was in Russia—it was actually in Alaska.

While Trump hasn’t responded directly to Moore’s latest remarks, the Maryland governor took the fight to CBS’ Face the Nation, blasting the White House’s tactics.

Moore called Trump’s talk of deploying National Guard troops to cities like Los Angeles and D.C. “unconstitutional.” He also hinted at major moves in response to Republican-led gerrymandering.

“When I say ‘all options are on the table,’ all options are on the table,” Moore said.

So far, neither Moore’s office nor the White House has commented further. But the message was clear: Trump may talk tough online, but when it comes to walking the walk—he’d rather ride.
