Alan Dershowitz, a former lawyer for Donald Trump, made a stunning claim on Thursday: he knows exactly who’s on the secret list tied to Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking ring — and he knows who’s keeping that list hidden.
“I know the names of the individuals. I know why they’re being suppressed. I know who’s suppressing them,” Dershowitz said on The Sean Spicer Show.
But he says his hands are tied.
“I’m bound by confidentiality from a judge and cases, and I can’t disclose what I know,” he added. Dershowitz, who was once falsely named as a client of Epstein, insists the public is being kept in the dark for a reason — to protect powerful people.
The Trump administration earlier this year promised to release the names connected to Epstein’s inner circle, but so far, little has been made public.
Elon Musk reignited attention on the issue after calling out President Trump’s past friendship with Epstein. Musk made the comment after Trump praised a bill, prompting backlash over the president’s history with the disgraced financier.
When pressed this week about Epstein, Trump dismissed the topic entirely.
“Are you still talking about Jeffrey Epstein? This guy’s been talked about for years. You’re asking — we have Texas, we have this, we have all of the things. And are people still talking about this guy? This creep? That is unbelievable,” Trump said Tuesday.
The White House continues to deny there is a so-called “client list.” But many aren’t buying it.
Attorney Sigrid McCawley, who represents several of Epstein’s victims, says the government is hiding explosive evidence.
“I think what’s really just astonishing about this recent disclosure from the government is that they know they are sitting on a treasure trove of information, and they’re not turning it over,” McCawley told NewsNation. “And I’ve worked on these cases for over 10 years now — there’s a plethora of information that the public has not been able to see relating to Epstein and his co-conspirators.”
Dershowitz doubled down Thursday, saying the list is being deliberately withheld.
“I know the names of people whose files are being suppressed in order to protect them, and that’s wrong,” he told Spicer.
One of Epstein’s victims, Virginia Giuffre, died by suicide earlier this year after battling long-term illness and trauma from the abuse she endured.
McCawley says it’s time those who helped Epstein face justice.
“Epstein could not have run this operation without the help of many people. He needed a lawyer who would, you know, cover things up for him. He needed an accountant who would funnel money in certain ways,” she said.
“And as we know, he had a group of people around him who helped protect him and help that scheme to continue running. None of those people have been prosecuted.”
