Donald Trump on Sunday night slammed California Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass over the violent riots that have rocked the city.

Trump’s fury comes as Los Angeles continues to spiral into chaos after a week of protests turned violent. What started as demonstrations against ICE and Trump-era immigration policies has exploded into street brawls, arson, vandalism, highway blockades, and standoffs with police and federal agents.

“Governor Gavin Newscum and ‘Mayor’ Bass should apologize to the people of Los Angeles for the absolutely horrible job that they have done, and this now includes the ongoing L.A. riots,” Trump wrote in his first post. “These are not protesters, they are troublemakers and insurrectionists.”

“Remember, NO MASKS!” he added.

Minutes later, Trump followed up with another post — this time sharpening his accusation by calling them “paid” insurrectionists.

Governor Newsom fired back on social media, blaming Trump for the unrest. “Things were under control until Trump got involved,” he claimed, insisting the violence was “provoked” by Washington.

But the situation has gotten so out of hand that U.S. Northern Command put 500 Marines on standby Sunday in case they’re needed to defend federal buildings and personnel in the city.
