Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, has thrown his weight behind a wild conspiracy theory about Joe Biden’s recent cancer diagnosis — a move that’s sparking outrage and concern.

On Sunday night, right-wing podcaster Clint Russell posted a shocking claim on X (formerly Twitter), accusing Democrats of covering up President Biden’s “cancer and dementia” to push forward a hidden agenda.

“So the plan was to run Biden, lie about his cancer and dementia, get him back in the WH, and then have him immediately step aside so Kamala’s reign of terror could begin,” Russell wrote. “All while trying to jail or kill DJT. Just making sure we’re all on the same page, here. These people are evil.”

Elon Musk replied with a single emoji: 🎯 — the bullseye symbol. One wordless reply, but it said a lot. Musk, who has faced growing backlash over his offensive political posts, appeared to endorse the baseless theory, aligning himself with voices spreading fear and misinformation.

The conspiracy exploded after Biden’s aggressive prostate cancer diagnosis was made public on Friday. A spokesperson confirmed the diagnosis, but there’s been no indication from the White House that he plans to step down. Still, that didn’t stop the internet frenzy — and Musk’s reaction only fanned the flames.

Donald Trump Jr. jumped in too, suggesting something sinister. “What I want to know is how did Dr. Jill Biden miss stage five metastatic cancer or is this yet another coverup???” he wrote. The comment ignored the fact that Dr. Jill Biden holds a doctorate in education, not medicine.

Another X user, Grummz, took the paranoia even further: “We came so close to total wipeout in the US. X would be gone, mass censorship the norm, and total woke takeover in gaming and movies. And quite possibly WW3. Count your blessings.”

Musk responded again — no words, just the dartboard emoji. This subtle backing of a conspiracy involving Biden’s health crosses a new line. Without evidence, these kinds of posts can do real damage, especially when amplified by someone with a platform as big as Musk’s.
