Attorney George Conway unleashed a blistering critique of former President Donald Trump on MSNBC’s “All In with Chris Hayes” Friday night, branding Trump a “wuss” for dodging a debate with Vice President Kamala Harris.
Conway’s fiery remarks came after Trump’s recent attempt to justify avoiding a debate with Harris, claiming his lead in the polls made such a debate unnecessary. This is reminiscent of Trump’s earlier refusal to engage in Republican primary debates.
“I got one word for that: Wuss,” Conway declared without hesitation. “He is a wuss. He is scared of her. She will run circles around him, and he knows that.”
With President Biden out of the race and Democrats rallying behind Harris, Trump faces mounting pressure to face her on stage. Despite initially agreeing to debate Biden, Trump now hedges, saying he would “probably” debate Harris but has yet to commit.
Harris has eagerly accepted the challenge, accusing Trump of “backpedaling” and questioning his courage. At a recent rally, Harris took aim at Trump directly, daring him to “say it to my face” and slamming him for being “too scared” to engage in a debate.
Conway believes Harris has the perfect mix of confidence and sharpness to unsettle Trump.
“She’s got the perfect happy warrior demeanor to do this, is make fun of him to his face,” he said Friday.
As the debate scene heats up, Trump’s reluctance to face Harris could become a defining moment of the campaign, spotlighting his evasiveness and fear of confronting a formidable opponent.
