Jennifer Horn, former chair of the New Hampshire GOP, has grown accustomed to the tactics her old party employs, but she’s struck by their utter inability to effectively challenge Vice President Kamala Harris. Horn asserts that the GOP is at a loss when it comes to targeting Harris, citing her intelligence, accomplishments, and courage as qualities that seem to unsettle GOP leaders.
“The GOP doesn’t know how to campaign against her,” Horn says. “She’s an intelligent, accomplished, courageous woman ― all the things GOP leaders hate in women.”
In a recent address at a Turning Point Action event, former President Donald Trump grappled with multiple strategies to undermine Harris, the presumptive Democratic nominee. Trump’s attacks centered on portraying Harris as significantly more liberal than President Biden. However, none of his attacks managed to resonate effectively.
Trump referred to Harris disparagingly as a “bum,” a tactic reminiscent of his previous disparagements of Biden. He then resorted to fear-mongering, attempting to paint Harris as an extreme leftist, with claims that she would advocate for defunding the police, banning fracking, and abolishing ICE.

He further claimed that Harris would appoint “extreme far-left judges” and impose what he described as “crazy San Francisco liberal values” on the nation. He criticized San Francisco’s current state, attempting to link Harris to a broader narrative of urban decline. Harris’ tenure as district attorney in San Francisco ended over a decade ago, and her career has since included roles as California’s Attorney General and a U.S. Senator.
“She’ll appoint hardcore Marxists to the Supreme Court to shred our Constitution on all of our religious liberty,” Trump asserted. “She will do that absolutely.”
“She will try as hard as she can to add as many justices as possible to the U.S. Supreme Court,” he added. “We don’t want that to happen, do we?”
In response, the Harris campaign issued a forceful rebuttal. Spokesperson James Singer condemned Trump’s address as “a display of unfit behavior for any public office,” noting his offensive comments and unsubstantiated claims.
“Tonight, Donald Trump couldn’t pronounce words, insulted the faith of Jewish and Catholic Americans, lied about the election (again), lied about other stuff, bragged about repealing Roe, proposed cutting billions in education funding, announced he would appoint more extremist judges, revealed he planned to fill a second Trump term with more criminals like himself, attacked lawful voting, went on and on and on, and generally sounded like someone you wouldn’t want to sit near at a restaurant — let alone be President of the United States,” Singer stated.
Polls indicate a competitive race between Trump and Harris, with recent Fox News data showing a tight contest in key states. Trump and Harris are currently tied in Pennsylvania and Michigan, with Harris trailing slightly behind Trump in Wisconsin. Democrats are also hopeful for Harris to gain ground in Georgia, Arizona, and Nevada—states where Biden had a strong performance in 2020.
