Representative Lauren Boebert is pointing fingers at none other than Barbra Streisand and Ryan Reynolds for her decision to switch congressional districts. According to Boebert, the Hollywood elites are apparently trying to buy her current district, and she’s not having it.
In a tell-all interview on Steve Bannon’s “War Room” podcast, Boebert ranted, “We have to shut down the Hollywood elites who are trying to buy my current district. There has been close to $10 million poured into this district to buy this seat. Colorado’s 3rd District is not for sale!”
And who does she blame for this alleged meddling? None other than Streisand and Reynolds, whom she claims are backing her Democratic rivals. “When you have Barbra Streisand coming in and donating to the Democrat, when you have Ryan Reynolds coming in and donating to the Democrat, it shows you that Hollywood is trying to buy their way into Congress,” Boebert declared to Bannon.
This isn’t the first time Boebert has accused the stars of supporting her opponents. In November, she even name-dropped them while soliciting donations from her supporters. “My opponent has plenty of funding from Soros dark money and even Hollywood liberals like Barbra Streisand and Ryan Reynolds,” she wrote in a post on X.
According to the Federal Election Commission, both Streisand and Reynolds have indeed donated $1,500 each to Boebert’s rival, Democratic candidate Adam Frisch.
In a surprising twist, Boebert announced on Wednesday that she’s packing her bags and moving from Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District to the supposedly more conservative 4th Congressional District. Her decision comes after Frisch outraised her by a staggering margin, with reports suggesting he raked in over $7.7 million compared to Boebert’s $2.4 million.
“I will not allow dark money that is directed at destroying me personally to steal this seat,” Boebert declared passionately in a Facebook video. “It’s not fair to the 3rd District and the conservatives there who have fought so hard for our victories.”
