A Michigan man who was impersonating a police officer found himself behind bars after pulling over a real, off-duty cop.
According to local station Fox8, 18-year-old Christian Mansoor had flashing red and blue lights on his BMW and tried to conduct a traffic stop on an off-duty Waterford Township officer.
When the officer confronted him, Mansoor claimed he was a Detroit police officer, prompting the off-duty officer to ask him for ID. The cop impersonator went to his car to get his ID, but then drove away.
Authorities said the off-duty officer reported a suspect who was trying to conduct a traffic stop. Deputies later found the vehicle and Mansoor, who was switching license plates to a different BMW.
He was arrested after a brief foot chase, police said.
Mansoor has been charged with a misdemeanor of impersonating a public officer and released on a $5000 personal bond.
