Donald Trump has pleaded not guilty to 34 criminal charges against him in a Manhattan criminal court Tuesday afternoon. The charges stem from an investigation into a hush money payment made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential campaign.
The bombastic Republican officially became the first former president to face criminal charges Tuesday after he was arrested and arraigned.
Prior to his arraignment, Trump posted to Truth Social as he was en route to the Manhattan district attorney’s office and courthouse, writing:
“Heading to Lower Manhattan, the Courthouse. Seems so SURREAL — WOW, they are going to ARREST ME. Can’t believe this is happening in America. MAGA!”
