On Friday afternoon, the House Jan 6 Committee released a damning text message sent to then-White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadow providing “details” of a meeting Trump held with GOP lawmakers as part of his effort to overturn the 2020 election.
“A January 3 text to Mark Meadows: ‘I have details on the call that Navarro helped convene… to delay certification… including that the president participated…,'” The Select Committee wrote on Twitter with an image of the text.
The release of the text comes days after the Committee voted unanimously to hold former Trump aides Peter Navarro and Dan Scavino in criminal contempt of Congress for defying subpoenas.
The Committee did not reveal who sent the text, but many speculate it came from Navarro.

Pretty shocking that they basically just admit to crimes openly in their texts. Really speaks to the culture at the Whitehouse around this time.

Delaying certification for 10 days . . . weren't senators Cruz and Hawley arguing for that? Will their argument be that this was not a crime but just vigorous politics?

"Journalists often quote his incendiary language from the speech: “Fight like hell”; “We will not take it anymore.”
But Trump also laid out a precise plan of action for the crowd:"#Jan6 #TrumpCoupAttempt https://t.co/O220EDw9tm

"The prospect of this democratic collapse is not remote. People with the motive to make it happen are manufacturing the means.
Given the opportunity, they will act.
They are acting already."
