Police have arrested 61-year-old Ellen Wink —the Republican deputy election administrator in Norwalk, Connecticut— and charged her with murder after shooting her tenant, 54-year-old Kurt Lametta.
The incident took place after Wink locked the tenant out of the home and threw away all personal belongings and a dispute ensued, CBS New York reported Friday.
Police said that Wink shot Lametta multiple times and “was pronounced deceased at the scene,” according to the report.
Wink, an unsuccessful Republican nominee for state legislature, was also charged with criminal lockout, first-degree criminal mischief, and fourth-degree larceny.
The City of Norwalk confirmed to FOX61 that Wink is the local Deputy Republican Registrar on the City Registrar of Voters and Elections Administration.
