Australians Mock Ted Cruz Over Incredibly Bad Tweet, Which He Deleted…Too Late

Ron Delancer

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) on Wednesday night saw an opportunity to attack Democrats over COVID-19 restrictions and quickly took on Twitter to satisfy his thirst, only to scramble to delete it after triggering an avalanche of mockery for confusing “Western Australia” with “Washington State”.

In his rush to score political points, The Texas Republican falsely suggested that “Washington State” had banned dancing at private parties on New Year’s Eve.

“Blue-state Dems are power-drunk authoritarian kill-joys,” Cruz wrote. “Washington State: NO DANCING ALLOWED!!! Any rational & free citizen: Piss off.”

In his tweet, Cruz shared an image of a comment thread from Facebook. In the comment thread, “WA Government” responded to a question about New Year’s Eve COVID-19 restrictions by saying that “Dancing is strictly not permitted.”

However, the comment thread came from the Facebook page of the Government of Western Australia, not Washington state.

Cruz later deleted the tweet, but not before people grabbed a screenshot to keep it alive forever.

Naturally, Australians had to respond:
