On Tuesday, NBC 4 Washington’s Scott MacFarlane posted a video showing Capitol rioter Danny Rodriguez sobbing as he tells FBI interrogators that he decided to take part in the January 6 insurrection because Donald Trump invited him to come to Washington DC to “stop the steal.”
In the video, Rodriguez seats nervously in front of 2 FBI agents who grilled him about then-president Trump calling him to Washington to storm the U.S. Capitol.
“How did he let you guys know to come to D.C.?” one agent asked.
“He was the commander-in-chief and the leader of our country,” said before breaking down in tears. “And he was calling for help! I thought he was calling for help! I thought he was… I thought I was doing the right thing,” he added
As noted by Raw Story, “Rodriguez is currently facing multiple criminal charges, including conspiracy, assaulting a police officer, entering a restricted building, and theft and destruction of government property.”
