Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) was ridiculed on Tuesday after blaming the mass power outages in Texas on windmills.
Taking to Twitter, Boebert shared a video clip of Fox News personality Tucker Carlson claiming that windmills are to blame for millions of Texans losing their power during a winter storm.
“It takes a special kind of stupidity to run out of energy in Texas,” she wrote. “Tucker Carlson does a great job here of exposing the green energy scam and how bad policy hurts people.”

Boebert’s ignorance about energy policy was quickly ridiculed. You can see some of the responses below:
It takes a special kind of stupidity to think that snow in Texas means we've "solved" climate change.

Wrong. The wind turbines are freezing because the Texan turbines aren’t suited for those temperatures. It’s very unusual. Meanwhile, turbines in colder places are doing just fine.

Special kind of stupidity to think you can keep burning old dinosaurs forever. Ever been to the Baltics? Covered with Wind Turbines even into the Baltic Ocean. I guess they are just that much smarter and have much nicer winters in Sweden, Finland and Norway than in Texas. pic.twitter.com/favn3Ls92j

That's what happens when the GOP fails to invest in energy infrastructure and deregulates both the power companies and how they need to support the grid…
