In August of 2020, 29-year-old Jacob Blake was shot seven times in the back by Kenosha police officers after they claimed that the victim had a weapon on him. Those claims were proven false and the incident left Blake paralyzed from the waist down.
Now, the officer who fired the seven shots is getting a slap on the wrist by District Attorney Michael Graveley, who has decided not to prosecute.
The incident had sparked outrage in Kenosha. During protests of the shooting, two more people lost their lives when teenager Kyle Rittenhouse crossed state lines with an illegally owned weapon and killed two people while injuring another.
According to reports, the state of Wisconsin is preparing for another protest and have already called in the National Guard over Graveley’s decision not to prosecute the officer who shot Blake.
