The District of Columbia Circuit Court ruled in favor of the House Judiciary Committee on Friday and said that they have the authority to enforce the subpoena as part of the legislative branch’s oversight duties.
This means that the House can uphold their subpoena for testimony from former White House counsel Don McGahn.
According to reports, the ruling will allow House Democrats to bring a lawsuit against McGahn and enforce their subpoena. This could possibly trigger the White House to lean on the U.S. Supreme Court.
