Mother Jones journalist David Corn had a one-on-one interview with Donald Trump’s niece, Mary Trump, to talk about the Trump family and her new best-selling book.
During the nearly-40-minute interview, Mary Trump says that her family has a long history of being racist and her uncle Donald is no exception.
“He’s racist,” Mary said of her uncle. “It has to be said honestly and straightforwardly.”
Mary Trump says that Trump’s racism stemmed from his own father, who according to Mary, was a supporter of the KKK.
“I have no doubt which side he would’ve been on,” she said after Corn mentioned an article that reports Fred Trump was arrested at a KKK rally and march in Jamaica, Queens. She notes that Fred Trump was “quite anti-Semitic,” and, as she has said elsewhere, the n-word was routinely used within her family circle.
