NBC 4 reported on Saturday that Rep. Joyce Beatty (D-OH) was pepper sprayed while attending a George Floyd protest in Columbus, Ohio.
Local ancho Colleen Mashall posted the incident on Twitter.
In the footage, several protesters ran at police trying to control the crowd in an attempt to extricate a female protester, prompting officers to use pepper spray to control the crowds.
Beatty and other lawmakers were caught in the line of fire.
