Racism in America is a real problem. Just because we’re in 2020, does not mean that the days of segregation are behind us.
This week, another man’s life was taken away from him from people who believed that they are empowered to kill someone because of the color of their skin.
George Floyd begged for his life and told the officers that he could not breathe. But they didn’t care and now he’s dead.
On Wednesday, former Vice President Joe Biden delivered a speech calling for justice for Floyd.
Speaking from his home in Wilmington, Delaware during a virtual event with Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf, Biden said he appreciates the firing of the four officers involved in Floyd’s death, but he said, “I don’t think that’s enough.”
“They have to be held more fully accountable,” Biden said. “Because we have to get to the root of all this.”
“George Floyd’s life matters. It mattered as much as mine and matters as much as anyone in this country. At least it should have,” Biden said.
