Donald Trump Jr. is being slammed from all sides after posting a heartless and conspiratorial response to President Joe Biden’s cancer diagnosis.
At first, Trump Jr. seemed to show sympathy. He shared a post on X saying, “Politics aside, we wish [President Biden] a speedy recovery,” and added, “Agreed 100%.”
But just a few hours later, he flipped the script.
In a follow-up post, Trump Jr. mocked First Lady Jill Biden, who holds a doctorate in education, and suggested the White House was hiding something.
“What I want to know is how did Dr. Jill Biden miss stage five metastatic cancer or is this yet another coverup???” he wrote, sharing a message that claimed it was “highly likely” Biden was diagnosed while in office and kept it secret. Trump Jr. even pinned the post to the top of his profile.
The backlash was instant and fierce.
“There’s no bottom for Don Jr. Truly despicable,” wrote Republicans Against Trump.
“I lost both of my parents to Cancer. This is disgusting and an insult to every patient and family dealing with this insidious disease. Grow the fuck up,” Robin Bender fired back.
One user wrote simply: “You’re a disgrace.”
Another added: “The Trump family are truly awful disgusting people.”
Political commentator Harry Sisson summed up the mood: “Donald Trump Jr. just made fun of President Biden’s cancer diagnosis. This is where we’re at in American politics. Trump Jr. is a pathetic, reprehensible conman who wouldn’t know decency if it smacked him in the face. Shame on him.”
