The White House is throwing a full-scale fit after a massive Jeffrey Epstein birthday card replica — referencing a note allegedly from Donald Trump — went up on the National Mall and immediately went viral.
The 10-foot-tall installation, erected by activist collective The Secret Handshake, mimics the infamous 2003 birthday message from Trump to Epstein and invites passersby to scrawl their reactions in Sharpie.
Tourists quickly obliged, covering the card in messages ranging from sardonic jokes to outright condemnation. “They didn’t have to make anything up,” said D.C. resident Susan Fritz. “They just had to blow it up and put it out here.”
Deputy White House press secretary Abigail Jackson exploded at the stunt, calling it politically motivated and based on “misinformation” while accusing its sponsors of wasting “Democrat donor money.”
The installation isn’t a random act of art theater — it’s a protest over the federal government’s handling of Epstein files. Under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, signed last year, the Department of Justice was supposed to release all Epstein-related documents by December 2025, but so far has disclosed only a fraction, prompting bipartisan complaints of stonewalling.
Trump’s denials add fuel to the fire. He maintains he never wrote the birthday note, and he has filed a $10 billion defamation lawsuit against The Wall Street Journal and its parent companies
The card isn’t the first time The Secret Handshake has targeted Trump. Last year, the group erected a controversial “Best Friends Forever” statue of Trump and Epstein, which Park Police removed amid complaints.
Public reactions have been explosive. Some wrote messages like “Looking forward to your jail sentence, DJT!” directly on the card. The interactive element has made the installation a viral spectacle, drawing attention far beyond D.C.
The card will remain on the Mall through Friday, giving activists and tourists more opportunities to weigh in — and giving the White House more reasons to throw yet another fit.
