Whistleblower Spills The Beans On How Trump Allies Forced GOP Lawmakers To Back Election Audits

A whistleblower claims that operatives working on behalf of then-president Donald Trump dug out compromising information on GOP congressmen to make them back election audits against their will, The Daily Beast reported, citing an article published by The Guardian.

Everett Stern, a whistleblower-turned-Republican Senate candidate, revealed that the alleged plot was carried out by allies of Donald Trump, including former National Security Advisor Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn.

Stern, a candidate for the Republican Senate primary in Pennsylvania, told The Guardian that he has informed the FBI about Flynn and his allies attempted to recruit him to gather potentially damaging “intelligence” on top Republicans in order to force them into backing election audits in states where Trump lost in 2020.

Stern revealed to the news outlet that, in April, two Flynn allies with the right-wing Patriot Caucus group contacted him to seek compromising information on two Republican congressmen—Sen. Pat Toomey (R-PA) and Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), who both backed Trump’s impeachment after the Capitol riot.

Stern also told the publication that he has passed texts and emails about the alleged plot to the FBI.

The revelation has people wondering if this tactic caused Senators Lindsey Graham, Ted Cruz, Rep. Kevin McCarthy, and many others to suddenly change their tune on the former president.
