Donald Trump has sparked a wave of laughter and criticism after rumors surfaced that he passed gas—possibly more than once—during a campaign speech in Detroit, Michigan, on October 10.
Videos circulating on social media claim to capture the alleged sounds, prompting a flurry of jokes from Trump critics.
“I’m seeing posts alleging that Trump suffered from an involuntary gas/fecal discharge during this portion of his remarks,” on user wrote on X.
Another user quipped, “This speech did not pass the smell test,” while another remarked, “The flies tormenting him at every rally make much more sense now.”
One observer humorously likened Trump’s behavior to that of “an elderly man at an HOA board meeting in Florida,” noting that he paused mid-rant to let out a loud fart before continuing. Another comment compared him to a grandparent, recalling, “Just like my Grandpa used to do after he ate too much at Thanksgiving.”
Adding fuel to the fire, a critic referenced unverified rumors from Trump’s reality TV days, suggesting that he had previously soiled himself on set: “People who worked on The Apprentice say this has been a problem for him for YEARS.”
This incident isn’t isolated; it follows another accusation from earlier this year when Ben Meiselas of MeidasTouch claimed Trump was “actually farting in the courtroom” during his hush money trial, stating it was “very stinky around him.”
In response to that video, longtime critic George Conway humorously noted, “Not that anyone should do anything with this information — but flatulent and fraudulent do rhyme.”
As the laughter continues, Trump’s stage mishaps keep providing fodder for social media humor and criticism.
