Former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) made his debut as a show host on One America News Network (OAN) Thursday night, but it wasn’t just his opinions that caught attention.

Gaetz, who has been in the middle of several scandals and recently resigned from Congress to become the head of the Justice Department, joined OAN’s primetime lineup with “The Matt Gaetz Show.” The show runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and comes right after he withdrew from his attempt to take on a new role in the Trump administration.

During his first show, Gaetz had some special guests, including fellow conservative Representatives Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) and Thomas Massie (R-Ky.). They discussed the challenges House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) is facing in keeping his position.

But when OAN posted a teaser clip of the show, the online reaction wasn’t about politics—it was all about Gaetz’s appearance.

Many people took to social media to ask, “What happened to his face?” Some joked about his makeup, with one user writing, “lol to whoever did his concealer.” Others were quick to comment on how his makeup looked unnatural, saying things like, “Blending, this diva needs blending” and “I think he needs more concealer.”

There were also some who couldn’t help but poke fun at Gaetz’s look, with one person quipping, “Matt Gaetz got a little too into the Christmas spirit and now permanently looks like he belongs in Whoville.”

While some were just commenting on his makeup, others were more critical, calling the show “terrible” and questioning how Gaetz still managed to get a new job after all the scandals surrounding him. Gaetz has been the subject of several investigations, including a House Ethics Committee report that accused him of violating multiple rules around drugs, prostitution, and other misconduct.

It wasn’t the first time Gaetz’s appearance sparked buzz. He got similar comments about his look when he appeared at the Republican National Convention in July.
