Despite relocating Tesla’s headquarters to Texas, launching rockets, and even building his own private town—literally—Elon Musk hasn’t won over the people and has just been named the least popular man in the entire state.
A recent poll by Texas Public Opinion asked local registered voters to rate well-known Texans. Musk came in dead last with a brutal favorability rating of -10—worse than Attorney General Ken Paxton’s -9 and even President Donald Trump’s -1.
The numbers speak for themselves. Fifty-one percent of Texans said they have an “unfavorable” view of Musk, with 34 percent saying they feel “very unfavorable” toward the Tesla CEO. The message couldn’t be clearer: “We don’t like you,” says Texas.
At the top of the list were politicians like Rep. Colin Allred (+6), State Rep. James Talarico (+5), and Congressman Joaquin Castro (+5)—figures Texans see in a far better light.
Musk’s unpopularity isn’t limited to Texas. In a Gallup poll last month, he was named the most unpopular person in America, with 61 percent of Americans holding a negative opinion of him.
It’s a staggering fall from grace for someone once hailed as a visionary. Between his erratic behavior on X (formerly Twitter), headline-chasing stunts, and the ongoing chaos surrounding his companies, it seems the public has had enough.
