In a recent survey, Vice President Kamala Harris emerges as the preferred choice for job creation among voters, with 43% believing she would do a better job in addressing unemployment, compared to 41% who favor former President Donald Trump.
As the economy continues to be a top priority for the electorate, this poll from The Associated Press/NORC Research Center highlights a growing optimism about economic conditions. While voters have expressed concerns about the economy under the Biden administration, recent data indicates a shift in public sentiment.
When it comes to handling crime, Trump still maintains an edge, with 42% of voters trusting him over Harris at 37%. Another 13 percent of respondents say neither presidential nominee is going to be better on crime, and 7 percent say they both would be good.
However, on job-related issues, Harris’s support reflects her focus on economic recovery, which resonates with many voters.
In addition to job creation, Harris enjoys higher favorability ratings overall, with 51% of registered voters viewing her positively, compared to 40% for Trump. Voters have also expressed strong support for Harris on issues like abortion, election integrity, and climate change, while Trump is favored for his stances on immigration.
With Election Day approaching in less than two weeks, both candidates are intensifying their outreach efforts, aiming to sway undecided voters and solidify their positions in this crucial race.
